I have been building my brand around taking back the word "bitch" for almost a decade now. It is a word that is historically used to shut women up. It hurt me a lot when I was younger. But now I realize that if someone calls me a bitch, it means I protected my boundaries, and stood in my own power, and they didn't like it. People who abuse power don't like obstacles, and I have always been one when it comes to doing the right thing. I'm an idealistic pain in the ass. But this work has also helped me rebuild my life after divorce and live a life that seemed unattainable to me for a very long time. I am remarried to a wonderful man. I dated for a decade with mixed luck. I have a lot of crazy stories, so your crazy stories won't faze me a bit.
Ultimately, I want every body to be loved and every soul to feel good in their body. Human-ing is hard and we all have wounds that make it even more difficult. When we can acknowledge our wounds, we can begin healing them and start living life from a more authentic and whole place. I truly believe that joy is our birthright and that we deny ourselves so much of it because of guilt, shame, and a host of other burdens we carry around much, much longer than we should.
